2 Missing Children Causes Dispute In A Community In Anambra State: The entire community of Eziowolle in the Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State are at odds following alleged kidnap of two schoolchildren in the area.
Two groups in the community are pointing fingers on each other of being behind the kidnap of the pupils. This incidence took place in January, 2019. The children were allegedly kidnapped in their school in January, 2019.
The women of the community stormed the Government office in the state capital, Awka, bearing placards and boldly inscribed on the placard was “The leadership of our community has a hand in the kidnap. Accusing the leaders of folding their hands and doing nothing, since the kidnap of the children.
Responding to the accusation was the president general of Eziowelle Development Union, Mr. Titus Akpudo, according to him those who made the allegation were those yet to come to terms with the town union election they lost. He goes further to say that such people have been causing confusion and creating disharmony in the community.
Mrs. Victoria Maduako and Mrs. Elizabeth Amaife, the mother to the alleged kidnapped children made it known to our reporter that they are yet to see their sons and that has been a source of worry to them.
Reacting to this news, the Police Public Relations Office in the state, Haruna Mohammed, issued a statement saying he was not aware of the matter, urged the contending parties to maintain peace.
He further beckoned on them to take the matter to his table for proper attention.
